In 2014, after my father died from Esophageal Cancer, my wife Susanne and I took a hard look at cancer and how it relates to diet. It turns out that cancer cells thrive on processed sugars, and the doctors told my dad to eat whatever he wanted to during his nearly 2 year treatment and after he was deemed “cancer free” in June of 2014. There were several other revelations that we became aware of, but this was the most eye-opening to us. It caused us to look at food ingredients harder and more carefully, and growing food using more organic practices. We had recently discovered the Latin Mass and were blessed to meet a family who had been growing and eating healthy foods for years, due to health issues related to highly processed foods and introduced us to the Nourishing Traditions cookbook. This book also tells the story of processed foods and how and why they are unhealthy, and how corruption and unethical practices got them “On the Menu” and into the American diet.
Steve Cunningham from Sensus Fidelium had Sally Fallon, the author of Nourishing Traditions on a recent Resistance Podcast. It turns out Mrs. Fallon also practices Regenerative Agriculture and is a promoter of Heritage Animal Breeds as a founder of the Weston A. Price Foundation. I highly recommend this book, as it has opened our family’s eye to true food and nutrition, and has great recipes too.
